In Search of…Spock? the Social Directory for 2008?

ah yes, gotta love when the tech-geeks get together to name a website…

This new search site entering the biz alongside linkedin and other business directory players is worth watching over the course of 2008. Aggregating openly accessible listings from the web, Spock is a people search engine. This isn’t a new concept but pulling from multiple profiles and sites, using a proprietary search bot, and allowing for audience participation and ratings of “reputation” makes Spock is unique. Unique for now at least.

Are you listed? Looks like quite a few of us are:

Andy,

I was just going to leave you a comment here, but couldn’t find your record on Spock! the one that’s on your picture above :) Did you vote it all down on your profile so it’s not listed now with these tags, or changed something a lot there? it’s a magic, really, how could it happen…

in any case I think yes, it’s useful to watch Spock in 2008, as recommended also by WIRED btw :)
“Top 10 Startups Worth Watching in 2008″
http://www.wired.com/techbiz/startups/news/2007/12/YE_10_startups

but I think it was clear already in the 2007, the unique value proposition of Spock- to be a Global and Open first People Search Engine 2.0- who could do it better? ;)

I am counted on and after having dedicated some time to my Spock profile, now get a lot of satisfaction of that all my Web information is refered somewhere in one place. finally :) + I am very happy that tons of my friends and social friends from business communities where I have the most social friends from, have followed me on Spock and stay quite happy with what did they get there.

I am very optimistic about the 2008 for Spock. the 2008 is gonna be the year of Open Social Web concept widely adopted by the most important Social Networks- so I think Spock is in the right place (between Web and Web 2.0) and in the right moment (when there were not yet Google 2.0  and when the most people are tired of hundred of their personal pages and social networks account to manage daily).

So I believe that the future is in the “Single- Point- of- Contact- (by)Keyword= SPOCK”, as it’s stated in the spelling and mission of Spock.

could you have a question or if you want just to keep in touch (well, about that your profile does not appear- it’s for sure!)- do not hesitate contacting me via the same Spock or where ever.

Kind Regards,
