SXSW 2008 Author: Ben Rigby & the mobile voter.

March 8th, 2008 by andyhunter

Ben shares great insight into engaging with a younger audience, a somewhat trite thing to write in a blog post these days, but a truthfully tough thing for many to wrap their heads around. Preceding the Henry Jenkins keynote, Ben tips us off to many of Henry’s observations in what’s going on with youth now, a natural inclination for 12-24 year olds to an open dialogue and an interaction with content, media, and brands that’s a very different world from what most are used too. Ben points out, if given the right tools, and approached with the right mentality there is a brand (or in his case political message) conversation to be had. His intro of content from the Obama website was really compelling example of this.

Of course there’s much more to dialouge than this piece, but when put up against videos put together by the Clinton campaign it shows a very clear difference in approach and understanding of how to make this dialogue happen.

Great tips for any of us looking for frameworks and thoughts on how to approach blended social media, mobile marketing and content. More from Ben here, or see his presenation slides below.
