Your aggregating is still at least thought provoking. It got me thinking about how one of the problems with traditional media (an arena I am currently employed) is the confusion in the populace at large. Social “media” is gossip. Traditional media is reporting. I wonder if we should rename social media. But if you get down to it “media” is just the medium. Makes you think though.

Okay, I guess I’m not bring in any deep thoughts either.

Guerilla.
I like the gossip metaphor. And I do think social media does have some similiar traits that “gossip” has. It can spread lightening fast, get muddied by telephone game/poor translation, and cause upheaval. At the same time, on a more positive front it can create a collective movements.. foster sharing and spread of constructive messages, advice and information.
Also, I wouldn’t take your traditional media as being reporting vs social media being hearsay thoughts to far to the extreme. Social media reporting takes a wary eye to determine if it’s accurate, but citizen journalism can be powerful. Many already use blogs, twitter feeds and social commentary as more immediate, trusted news etc than so called “unbiased” journalism.

Great slide show! I enjoyed the in-your face tone that it carries. Another tool that will hopefully make one more traditionalist say “oh, I get it now…” More diplomatic than a 2×4r to the head I suppose.
